The school was initially started as a Senior Basic School. But in January, 1970, the school was renamed as Ramakrishna Mission Boys’ Home Junior High School. The current school building was inaugurated by revered Swami Vireswaranandaji Maharaj, tenth president of Ramakrishna Math and Mission, Belur.

Established in 1957, the Junior Technical School is one of the most important units of the Boys’ Home. It has been running courses in different Engineering trades open to Class VIII passed students leading to the Junior Diploma i) Two-year course in Turner, open to Madhyamik passed candidates. ii) Two-year course in Electricity, open to Madhyamik passed candidates. iii) One-year course in Welding, open to Class VIII passed students.
